THE 2022 STUDENT ART SHOW
The Phebe Conley Art Gallery will hold a student art show on Dec. 2. The show is for all art students and those who took an art course in 2022. There will be a variety of artwork: paintings, drawings, sculptures, photography, animation, graphic design, and more.
Two judges not from Fresno State will choose the top three art from each department. Winners will receive a gift card for $400 and a certificate of best artwork. Also, Fresno State President Saúl Jiménez-Sandoval and his wife will come to the reception.
“The newest award is the President’s Showcase Award,” said Christopher Lopez, coordinator of the Phebe Conley Art Gallery. “President Sandoval will come in, and his wife will both come in and select awards for that particular award.”
The President’s Showcase Award will be hung in the University House in the spring of 2023.
An opening reception will be held at 5 p.m. The show will be open from Dec. 2 to Dec. 10 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public.
For spring 2023, the art gallery will host the senior art show. Lopez says these are the hottest two art shows for Fresno State students.
“It probably is the 40th or 50th art show. So, yeah, before we even had this building was even here,” said Lopez.
