History of Big Fresno Fair all in one place

Inside of the Big Fresno Fair is a museum that opened its doors in 2013. It has more than 4,600 items on display showcasing the history and changes that the fair has experienced over decades.

Dennis Forel has been a docent for at the museum since it opened and even helped authenticate an old styled bicycle from 1872 that now holds a place in the museum.

“I would love to be here until the end of my days, I will tell you the truth,” Forel says. “It is fun. It is enjoyable being able to impart that information and history to other people to give them a better understanding of what is going on in the history.”

The museum helps recall a cherished timeline of the city filled with rich history to share, connect, and learn from. The museum is open year-round and not just during the fair in October.
