Campus Parking
Just say the word ‘parking’ to a student at Fresno State, chances are you will hear a groan. For many students, parking is a stress they don’t want to deal with.
Peak hours – between 8 A.M. to noon – are especially challenging.
“They have been working really hard to help student deal with the parking problem. Amy Luna, the public information officer for the public safety department at Fresno State ,”There are now many other options students can use to help them steer clear of the parking madness.”
Luna says “Recently we started up the bulldog express shuttle and that has been a very successful program just for the month of august for this semester, we have 14,493 rides just for the fall semester in august. So that’s a really short time period and really high rider ship which tells us that students are utilizing these services. So that there not as impacting by parking in the core of campus.”
She also told me that they have also lowered the parking times in staff parking for students from 7 P.M. to 6 P.M. Students are now allowed to park in the staff parking at that time, without getting a parking ticket. According to Luna, they are always trying to find ways to fix the parking issues.
