Free Drive From Visalia to Fresno State
Fresno State students who live in Visalia have a free ride to school every day. It’s the V-Line.
Cassie Valencia takes the V-Line almost every day. Valencia was in a car accident four years ago and is slowly getting comfortable again behind the wheel.
“Honestly, even if I could drive well I think I would still take the bus,” Valencia said. “The freeway from Visalia to here can get crazy sometimes and the fact that it is free for students helps out tremendously.”
The V-Line runs six times a day. The last bus leaves Fresno State at 7:45 p.m. That’s the bus that helps Music Education major Caryn Brokaw get home. “I really like that it is a reliable method of transportation especially for those of us that have limited options,” Brokaw said. “You know there are some people who are afraid to drive on the freeway, some of us don’t have a vehicle like myself right now and so it’s a nice way to still get to school and also not like up ruin your life and having to move up here.”
The V-Line is helping Cassie, Caryn, and many more students who live in Visalia get to Fresno State every day.
