Fresno State Football Player and Musician
Music and football. Two challenging career choices that few can perfect. But for Anthony Grayson, doing both – well – is normal.
Grayson not only plays football for Fresno State but also produces music under the name ‘Kenny La Fox.’ “It’s kind of time consuming on both ends. As far as football. you got a scheduled time you gotta be there and schedule time for doing homework and whenever I have free time in that I constantly go back to music,” Grayson said.
Dejonte Oneal, a teammate, said, “I think it’s amazing because we juggle a lot already conditioning, workouts, games.”
Grayson learned how to perfect his moves on the field from a teammate in high school. As for his music, he taught himself how to play the piano, recording beats on the computer. A teammate of his also became a source of inspiration. Grayson said, “So I would kind of look over his shoulder and try to see what he would do and he actually showed me how to work my way through music.”
Grayson makes all his beats from scratch and has even made some money with his music. “I want to say the beginning of last year was big for me because I actually started selling my first couple beats,” Grayson said.
He bought all of his equipment after selling his first beat and says he will continue to make music after college. Grayson said “My goal is to get as much music out as possible and I’m satisfied with hearing other people on my stuff.”
