High School Prodigy Trains For The NFL
Kendall Milton, a sophomore at Buchanan High School, received his first scholarship offer for football when he was 13 years old. He and his family knew from that point that he would need to train to make his dreams a reality of getting to the NFL.
“I got involved with T1 through my dad. He took me out to one of the youth camps and I just liked Travon, liked his style, liked the way he was intense with his workouts,” Milton said. He’s talking about Travon Jones, the owner of T1 Sports Academy – a training facility that for Milton, feels like a second home.
Jones says his time with Milton was business as usual at first. “His dad basically said here’s my son. I want you to do what you’ve been doing with these boys for my son,” Jones said. Over time, the bond between student and coach developed into more of a brotherhood. “He’s a great athlete, he’s a great kid, high character, very disciplined. Mannerism is there with the best of them, it’s just his dad wanted to get more out of him,” Jones said.
Milton now has over 25 scholarship offers. He says training and time will be the key to getting to that next step – playing in the NFL.
