RED WAVE SHOWS BULLDOG PRIDE ALL GAME DAY LONG

Fresno State football is back — and so are all of the traditions that come along with the athletic talent. To kick off game day, Fresno State fans started their celebrations hours before kickoff in the lots surrounding the stadium.

Many Bulldog fans have been coming out to tailgate and cheer on the Bulldogs at the Stadium for years. For one fan, these traditions began when he was a student: “We’ve been coming to Fresno State games for about 10 years now. I’m a Fresno State Alumni, I met my wife at Fresno State, we’ve got three daughters that all graduated from Fresno State, and so this is an annual evening. Every year we come out for all the home games, tailgate and go to the football games.”

Families, friends, and students enjoyed the hours leading up to the game with barbecues, games, and by socializing with other fans. One young fan was excited to be at his first tailgate: “I like that there’s a lot of people playing football, there’s a lot of kids here and, um, it’s just like really fun, you get to hang out with your friends and family.”

Tons of students and alumni gathered at the side of the White Lot closest to the stadium, at the ESPN Zone. This area was very popular among the college students and adults alike, and the atmosphere was unbeatable. Music blared out of the speakers to hype up the fans and they were able to grab free drinks with their friends.

Most of all, fans enjoyed the company of each other. Bulldog spirit is unbeatable and fans appreciate the pride of the Red Wave. “I love how all the ‘Dogs come together, and we’re able to celebrate as a team just like we win as a team,” says 2018 Fresno State graduate Zac Days, from just outside the ESPN Zone.

Be sure to check out what all the hype is about and join in on the festivities at the next Fresno State Football tailgate.
