FRESNO STATE TECH LENDING CENTER
Fresno State’s Henry Madden Library’s Tech Lending Center helps put modern technology in the hands of students for free. For many students this has been a great resource; some of this equipment could have ranged anywhere from fifty to upwards of a thousand dollars to purchase out of pocket, saving students a ton at the end of the day.
Student assistant Tanmay Parkar stated that “not all students can afford the modern technologies and not everyone is aware of all these items. So the tech lending department provides these items on a free basis and loan them to students, faculty, and staff.”
The Tech Lending Center accounts for two thirds of the libraries total checkouts. These checkouts range from laptops, battery chargers, cameras, microphones, and even 3D printers!
Student patrons like Brandon Sousa stated “I found it to be very useful. Those long nights in the library you need to charge your phone or computer, they have those battery packs you can rent out. Super easy, super convenient”
This is music to the Tech Lending Department’s staffs’ ears as Student Assistant Tanmay later commented, “We try to provide the best experience to Fresno State’s student, faculty and staff as well as much electronic equipment that we can provide.”
The Henry Madden Library’s tech lending center is open during normal library hours.
