HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS
The holidays are a time for people to be with family and friends. Many can’t imagine what the holidays would be like without their loved ones. Although many Fresno State students go home for the holidays, there are some who do not. Many of those who do go home go to great lengths for just one or two days with their families.
“I will only be home for a few days,” says Arvindah Vignesh. Vignesh is a foreign exchange student from Qatar. He is traveling almost 24 hours straight just to see his family for a few days. “It’s a pain because of all the holiday traffic, but it is worth it,” Vignesh says.
Carlin Perera is a foreign exchange student from Sri Lanka. He does not have the opportunity to go home for the holidays. “I’m used to it,” Perera says. “I’ve been doing it for a few years now. My parents know what I am trying to do here.”
