TRANSGENDER DAY OF REMEMBRANCE
“I miss her, she should be here… she’s my only child, she should be living her life, instead, she lost her hope too many times.” – Allison Murphy (Mother of a trans teen)
Transgender Day of Remembrance is a day we mourn the many transgender lives taken by murder and suicide. This year, Fresno State held the event with the help of Trans-E-Motion.
Family, friends and allies joined together to remember those they have lost and to raise awareness. The event included speakers from the community, including parents, organization leaders and those who have lost loved ones of their own. The community came together to create solidarity within each other, to help prevent more lives from being taken.
“Don’t give up on yourself; you are worthy and have the right to exist.”
