After sexual abuse allegations were brought forth After sexual abuse allegations were brought forth against Cesar Chavez in a New York Times article and later by Dolores Huerta, his statue at Fresno State has been completely removed. 

President Saúl Jiménez-Sandoval released a statement to the university today saying that the university had “a responsibility to respond with moral clarity” and that the removal is about protecting one another and thanking farmworkers. 

So far, no conversations have been made about who will replace Chavez’s statue. The statue is being held in a storage facility.
