MEET AIMEE THE GUINEA PIG

Purring is usually expected to belong to cats but have you ever thought about it belonging to a guinea pig?

Meet Aimee, HE is one of three guinea pigs that live in the Aranzazu household.

For nearly two years, Karla Aranzazu, Aimee’s owner, thought he was a girl. But that didn’t make a difference, she loves him just the same. However, referring to Aimee as a “HE” has been quite challenging.

“We still refer to her as a her, even though it’s a he,” said Aranzazu. “Cause I know it just stuck and I don’t think she really cares.”

Recently, Aranzazu rescued two female guinea pigs named Izzy and Phoebe. However, Aimee made it known that he was not very thrilled about the new additions, since he was used to being the main focus of the household.

“All the attention was for him, like it was towards him,” said Aranzazu. “So, everything like beds, toys, little costumes, pictures, videos, anything. It was all about him!”

Although Aranzazu loves all three of her guinea pigs, she believes she has a special connection with Aimee. After all, he was her first baby.

She loves to spend time with Aimee, especially dressing him up for fun and for holidays.

“Oh yeah! For Halloween we dressed her up like a cowgirl. And then for Christmas, we dressed her up as a little Santa,” said Aranzazu, ecstatically.

As of right now, Aranzazu is very content with her three loving little critters and says having three is “more than enough.”
