ATTENDING COLLEGE WHILE RAISING A CHILD

Before going to class, Stephanie Ocampo takes her daughter Sofia to Huggins Early Education Center at Fresno State.

“I had her right after I turned 16, a month later,” Ocampo said.

Having a child at such a young age did not hinder Stephanie’s plans to finish high school and attend college. She believes that going to college will set a good example for Sofia as she grows up.

“I wanted to be her role model. I wanted her to understand that things happen in life and you are the only person that defines your life,” Ocampo said.
