FRESNO STATE MURALIST
You may have noticed some eye-catching artwork outside of the Phebe Conley Art Gallery. Danny De Meza is an Art major at Fresno State, and he is the artist behind the mural project on the wall.
Danny took a study abroad trip to the Dominican Republic where he worked on a mural and had some assistance. “The idea was inspired by some Haitian boys in the Dominican Republic that lived in Bateas,” said Danny. Those kids are included in the mural.
In Fresno, he is getting a little help from another fellow artist who is the only one he trusts to help him with this project.
“It’s kind of like working for your biggest inspiration, like the person you look up to the most and him going to you and asking you to work on something with him. It’s, it’s awesome,” said student artist Raquel Justo.
Danny wants this mural to be done before graduation and for all to look at for inspiration.
