LEARN CPR IN THE WATCHDOG PROGRAM
Fresno State students can attend classes to learn about drug and alcohol prevention and learn how to save a life with CPR. The class is taught by Walter Green, Lecturer and on-campus lifeguard. He is also a proud graduate of Fresno State.
Student Kayla Darr, joined the WATCHDOG program to learn these life saving skills. “It was really convenient right on campus and it was such an easy time to do it. It was a lot of fun,” Said Darr.
Pre-Med student Shawn Pedro, joined the WATCHDOG program to add to his resume and feel more confident in helping his fellow Fresno State students. “Going into the healthcare field, and just having CPR under my belt, and if the situation ever way to arise it’s really nice that I have the confidence behind it I needed to help,” said Pedro.
Cassie Valencia graduated from the WATCHDOG program and jumped on the idea to come back as a student as a student coordinator. “I have a lot of experience in that program alcohol and drugs and a lot of the things this program is about.”
The WATCHDOG program is offered twice a year in the Spring and Fall semesters for a fee of $25.00, which gets you a t-shirt and a WATCHDOG key chain. The Red Cross Certification students earn lasts two years.
