NEW STUDENT HOUSING NEAR FRESNO STATE
After a decade of almost no new student housing, a new apartment complex is being built near Fresno State.
“I believe it’s been around nine years since any new student housing has been new. Everything is going to be newer, new technology, new amenities that students need. We hope we’re bringing something the students need into the area,” said Wendy Going, Director of Leasing and Marketing.
Student ambassadors Courtney Perkins and RJ Bernard will be the first people to sign the leasing application. They are both getting paid to promote Topanga Ridge.
“There is going to be a lot of student activities and lots of ways to be involved…It’s going to be a great way to meet many college students,” said Perkins.
“Personally I am excited because it’s my first step of becoming an adult. Fresno State is down the street. I get to separate myself and grow individually as a person and I am excited about the fun that is coming in the next year,” said RJ Bernard.
After speaking to management, they mentioned that a lot of people know this area as the bad side of town. They also think that when an area is being cleaned, it makes people want to be there and even feel more comfortable.
Management also says that they had this vision going since 2016 but did not start any construction until early 2018.
Topanga Ridge is now accepting student housing applications and will officially be open in the fall of 2020.
