Pet Adoption Pumpkin Patch

The Miss Winkles Pet Adoption Center pumpkin patch brings happiness in more ways than one.

The goal of the pumpkin patch is to raise awareness about pets in the central valley that need rescuing. The no-kill pet shelter opened the pumpkin patch for the first time last year.

Customer Sisy Hernandez brought her rescue dog so they could take pictures with the pumpkins and enjoy their day together.

“We are always looking for dog-friendly stuff so we saw the pumpkin patch and wanted to bring him,” Hernandez said.

Marketing coordinator Taylor Mosher says this pumpkin patch is unique.

“Your dogs are welcomed so you can come with your dogs and take pictures with your dog in the pumpkin patch with pumpkins. And people love pet photos– they really do so you’re more than welcome to bring the whole family including those furry family members,” Mosher says.

All of the pumpkin proceeds go to the shelter’s nonprofit account that takes care of pets in need.

“I think it’s great. We know a lot of dog lovers because we go to a lot of different dog parks, too, so we’re definitely going to spread the word that Miss Winkles has this pumpkin patch that will benefit all the dogs who need to go to homes,” Hernandez said.

“It’s something we are more interested in offering to the community as something new to do. And like I said, it’s something different than the other pumpkin patches in the area,” says Erin Ford-Horio, Miss Winkles supervisor.
