15-YEAR-OLD BARBER IS MAKING A NAME FOR HIMSELF

For many people, it takes years of experience to get good enough to earn a spot at a barbershop. For 15-year-old Danny Diaz-DeLeon, it only took a year to get his opportunity to work alongside veteran barbers.
“I started cutting hair last May in the summertime,” said Diaz-DeLeon.
Even though he has less experience than everyone else, he isn’t intimidated. He feels like he’s at the same level as the veterans.
Jesus Gudino, the co-owner of Headquarters Barbershop said, “Honestly, he gets down. He’s very good at cutting hair. He’s 15 years old and he has clientele like if he were already doing it for like over five plus years.”
He doesn’t only cut hair for himself; he is always thinking about others. “I would say it was more like the experience,” said Diaz-DeLeon, “not just of the client getting the haircut, but the feeling that I get knowing that my client is having a good experience.”
