Fresno MMA Fighter Prepares For Upcoming Bout
Fresno MMA fighter Paul Elizondo Jr. is preparing for his upcoming bout on February 28 at the Save Mart Center in Fresno.
Elizondo is coming off of his first loss and is eager to get back into the winning column. He has been training with MMA striking coach Rudy Cruz, who has trained UFC champions such as Daniel Cormier and Cain Velasquez.
Cruz is confident that his fighter will be victorious come February 28.
“I see Paul getting his hand raised. You know, I always envision that. I never envision anything else other than my fighters’ hands getting raised,” Cruz said.
Elizondo’s upcoming opponent Carlos Reyes defeated Elizondo’s teammate that he trains with at Halo Jiu Jitsu. For Elizondo, it’s a fight that can get him back on track but also a chance for redemption for the Halo Jiu Jitsu team.
“He actually just beat my training partner with this last event we were in so he’s coming off of a win and I’m coming off of a loss. So yeah, he has the momentum, but I have the hunger, I feel,” Elizondo said.
Elizondo does not plan for this fight to go to a decision, and instead, he prefers to end the fight quickly by TKO.
“I’d rather take him out and go have dinner right after,” Elizondo said.
