Buchanan Freshman reacts to online classes

School campuses all over the country are still closed because of the COVID-19 outbreak, and nobody knows for sure when students will go back.
Buchanan High in Clovis is one of the schools that has transitioned to online learning, but students are concerned that they are not getting the same level of education as they would in face-to-face classes.
Mackenzie Fox, a freshman at Buchanan, is having mixed feelings about finishing her first year of high school on her computer. She finds some classes easy to do at home, but others, like her honors math class, not so much.
“It’s been a lot harder, and I think it might affect test scores and stuff–and my classes next year, especially,” Mackenzie said. “Because if they teach something that I didn’t learn properly or didn’t even learn right at all, it can affect a lot of things.”
Even though she is worried that this may set her back for next year, Mackenzie and her peers are doing their best to stay on top of their work and know that staying home and learning online is best for everyone while the virus is still spreading.
