Coronavirus Impacts Shoe Reselling Business
Ayden Alvarado resells shoes as a side job. He buys shoes that are limited edition or in high demand with low stock and resells them at a higher price.
Last year Alvarado made a lot of money reselling shoes, but this year sales are down because of the coronavirus.
“Last year I’d probably make hundreds of dollars, double of what I made today which was like seventy dollars off of four pairs. It’s crazy,” Alvarado said.
Because of the coronavirus, Alvarado has stopped selling in person and is now only shipping shoes.
“More online like I have to ship out to eBay and everything and I don’t even want to risk doing person to person,” Alvarado said.
Alvarado knows that the business will take a while before it goes back to normal, and he says that stores that sell the shoes will take a hard financial hit as well.
“It’s impacting the store sales and just people that are trying to sell or resell. It’s not really the best situation,” Alvarado said.
