Fantasy Football in the age of COVID
With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, this football season will be very different. But, one Fresno home is keeping all the beer, food, and yelling that traditionally comes with it.
For Fresno State student Albert Gonzales and his roommates, that meant hoping they would still have their traditional fantasy football season.
“We have fantasy football every year, but with COVID I was worried that even if we were doing it this year it wouldn’t be the same. We usually have a kind of party and drink and eat but I get why the others don’t want to come over. All I know is that COVID isn’t going to stop me from drafting this year” Gonzales said.
While they’re all having a good time these fantasy team owners still understand that they have to be careful because of COVID. So, they have hand sanitizer ready.
Fueled by wings and pizza each team picked players that will hopefully lead them to a championship.
With many activities canceled because of the pandemic, fantasy football gives these college students a much-needed break from reality.
Even though going to football games isn’t happening this year, being with friends while eating and drinking makes these roommates feel like they’re still at the games.
