A 12-year-old’s Quarantine Art
COVID quarantine has left many people with time on their hands. For 12-year-old Rocio Mejia, this is a time to get creative. Rocio found a deep passion for painting during the COVID quarantine.
Since she no longer has access to free art supplies from her school, she uses her allowance to buy the supplies she need for her paintings. “I decided to go to Dollar Tree and Wal Mart and buy the supplies and then I just started painting afterward,” said Mejia.
Every day brings her new inspirations. “I started painting during quarantine because I really missed it,” said Mejia.
She paints everything from island sunsets to pink starry nights.
She has taken it to the next level with some bigger projects, like painting her dog’s house.
If you’d like to be an artist, anywhere can be your canvas. All you need is paint, brushes, and some inspiration.
