Opening a business during the pandemic
During the pandemic, when many businesses have struggled, a local woman decided to open her own.
Aretsy Garcia opened up Aretsy’s Lashes in July. It was challenging when she was flooded with orders.
But she is successfully building her clientele for eyelashes, lipstick, and scrunchies in the Central Valley.

Getting orders ready with her baby and delivering them is a hustle. But she ships many orders to keep contact to a minimum and to keep her household healthy.

But for some places, she will deliver. “To close places like San Joaquin and Kerman, it was too expensive for me to be shipping everything,” she said. “So I started delivering. But I wouldn’t take the baby.”

When she delivers she take precautions. “After I deliver I do use hand sanitizer and the spray. I really don’t get off the car when I deliver but I want to stay safe, you know,” she said.
