Fresno State Podcast is Here to Help Students of Color
Fresno State’s Men’s Success Initiative created a podcast to help its diverse population have conversations about racial issues in hopes of forming a tight-knit community.
The Men’s Success Podcast streamed its first episode in July 2020 and has become a haven for conversations about the challenges that men and men of color face.
With the increase of racial tension in our country, this podcast now welcomes all people of color who are looking to talk about social justice issues.
Student Involvement coordinator and podcast host Jerry Gomez uses the platform to reach out to Fresno State’s diverse campus.
“These conversations were already happening about what can we do to support men, especially our men of color, to provide more support to have conversations on social justice so they can be empowered,” said Gomez.
Besides talking about important issues that people of color face, the Men’s Success Podcast also has prominent community leaders share their thoughts on current issues.
The podcast also offers programs to help students develop the skills and knowledge needed to foster academic success.
