Cruising Downtown Fresno Trunk or Treat
Sunday night cruising is a weekly tradition here on Fulton Street. But the weekend before Halloween, some Central Valley car clubs made it special for neighborhood kids with Trunk or Treat. The event planned to make this pandemic Halloween feel a little more normal.
“When I was growing up, my childhood was going door to door to get candy. But right now everything is so tight, where the kids are not having that fun, where they are feeling frustrated, where they are not having the same thing they had a couple of years ago,” stated Nanci Luna.
Luna dressed her family’s truck up for the event. Sunday night cruising brings back feelings of nostalgia for her, and she shares her appreciation of custom cars with her kids. “The kids get to know what we were growing up with. Fulton was known for cruising. Kings Canyon was, Blackstone, and we want to continue the tradition,” stated Luna.
Aside from the Halloween fun, regulars of Sunday night cruising love the family atmosphere of the event.
Kristina Hernandez, a member of the classic car community proudly said, “There’s different car clubs. There’s bikes. It’s a family thing now. They turned it into a family thing, which is good. We get to sit out here, enjoy ourselves, enjoy our evening with our family. See the cars, the vehicles, the low-riders and stuff.”
Although you won’t find trick or treating here every Sunday, you will find classic cars.
