Outdoor Services Resume at St. Joachim’s Parish
St. Joachim’s Catholic Church has opened for outdoor services in Madera, California. These include mass, confessions, and weddings.
The services are being coordinated by the youth ministry supervisor, Lucy Gomez. She has to ensure the parish complies not only with the County of Madera mandates but also those from the Diocese of Fresno.
These precautions include “Of course social distancing, everybody there has to be a radius of 6 feet between households. Everybody has to wear a mask, children 11 and older have to wear a mask,” said Gomez.
Pastor Father John Warburton believes services will have to return indoors soon with the onset of adverse weather. If this isn’t possible, Fr. John believes the parking lot solar panels will serve as adequate shelter from the coming rain.
