Day of Giving 2020
Day of Giving is a 24-hour online fundraiser. Every November, Fresno State puts on this event to help students succeed through scholarships, activities, new equipment, and travel funding. This year the university raised over $450,000 through 1,949 donations.
Fresno State’s colleges, departments, and organizations use social media to promote their area and compete with their colleagues for the most donations.
For the fourth straight time, the College of Arts and Humanities won with the most unique donors. Interim Dean Dr. Honora Chapman says the money raised is a pot of gold!
“What I love about Fresno State student is you so appreciate your learning. You don’t take it for granted and that is the spirit of our college is bring the best to you so that you can thrive in your future career,” she said.
The donations earned from Day of Giving are used by students like Tony Salazar who earned a Deans Council scholarship, and Annabella Monzon who received funding the for the supplies for larger-than-life sculptures.
The money also funds travel experiences like “Camp News,” where students get to work with professionals in the news business.
