Trump Campaign files Lawsuits
On November 4th, 2020, the Trump campaign filed lawsuits in Pennsylvania and Michigan demanding better access for campaign observers to watch ballot counting in those two states.
The campaign also seeks to intervene at the Supreme Court level to prevent Pennsylvania ballots that came in after polls closed from counting. State law in Pennsylvania allows ballots to be counted up until November 6, as long as they are postmarked by election day, November 3.
Appealing to the Supreme Court prior to the lower courts goes against standard procedures. Any case that goes to the high court must make its way through the lower courts first.
