Fall 2020 Graduates Transitioning into Their Careers
As we approach the end of this virtual learning year, Fresno State will have hundreds of seniors graduating and heading out on the job market.
One soon-to-be graduate already has a job lined up. Tatiana Lopez will be an event director in her hometown immediately after graduating. A previous employer offered the job.
“I worked there two years ago and I did my best to leave my mark. I’ve been emailing one of the managers for those two years now and she stays updated on what I’ve been doing for my internship,” said Lopez.
Networking and keeping in touch with former managers helped Lopez obtain the position.
“I kind of just worked at a wedding venue because I love weddings and then two years later now I’m going to work there after I graduate. Definitely keeping those contacts is so important,” said Lopez.
Not all graduates know exactly what they will do when they graduate. Tristan Rodenborn is keeping his options open.
“I’m not really quite sure 100% what I want to do. And I’m still young and stuff so traveling would be cool. I don’t know I have my options open,” said Rodenborn.
