How to keep your pet healthy
Many people found themselves getting a new companion during quarantine. However, with a new pet comes new responsibilities.
Dr. Raine Williams, a veterinarian at Waterhouse Animal Hospital, said it is important that any pet comes in for a check up at least once a year.
Along with yearly visits, she also recommends getting the core vaccines for younger pets.
“Depending on what both your and the pets lifestyles are like, you might wanna get the risk based vaccines,” Dr. Williams said.
Food is also a factor in keeping your pet healthy. Dr. William said twice a day is normally enough for most pets.
Some of the food brands Dr. Williams recommend are Hill’s Science Diet and Purina Pro Plan. However, she said to avoid raw diets.
