Meet Wyatt Babb, Future Radio Personality
Wyatt Babb grew up muting the television and doing the commentary and play-by-play on sporting events himself. It’s something that he’s always loved doing, yet it’s not what convinced him to go into broadcast journalism.
Babb originally went to college at Clovis Community and graduated with an associate degree in business. Shortly after, an opportunity to be on the Fresno Monsters hockey broadcasting team came up and Babb took it. That decision would soon change his life.
“I got an opportunity with the Monsters and then once I stepped into that role, I was like okay done, that’s it, that’s what I want to do,” said Babb. “So it was kind of a mixture between two things, my love for hockey and this thing [commentating] that I had always kind of done but didn’t know how to describe it. They came together and ever since then it’s been so fun.”
Babb also works for the Fresno State club hockey team, the Fresno Ice Dogs.
Yet hockey isn’t the only broadcasting that Babb does. He also started a podcast with some friends during quarantine called “Grab My Banner” that he looks forward to building.
He’s now in his last semester at Fresno State and will be graduating in May. After graduation, Babb has his sights set on the radio world, whether it be sports or podcasting.
