On campus classes for Fall 2021
Students are preparing to be back on campus next semester after learning from home for over a year. Some are excited to come back to school while others prefer learning from home.
Business major Andres Perez prefers to learn from home because it saves him a lot of gas and he doesn’t have to worry about parking.
Perez says working from home benefits his busy work and school schedule.
Other students like psychology major Emma Schneider prefer the school setting. “It’s really hard to be productive when you’re at home all day and to be motivated by yourself,” said Schneider. “As far as learning new material, it’s really difficult with asynchronous classes.”
Some teachers also feel the same way.
“I’ve never taught online, learning how to be an effective teacher when you can’t meet with your students was pretty challenging,” says art professor Neil Chowdhury.
Many say they have struggled working from home and are hopeful to be back on campus next semester.
Coming back on campus has left many with concerns on how the campus will accommodate so many students during the pandemic.
