Uncertain job market impacts seniors
Graduation is right around the corner and many seniors are feeling the anxiety to quickly find a job in their field of study.
Due to COVID-19, the job market is uncertain. Some employers are not able to afford new hires. This leads to a decrease in job opportunities. Fresno State usually offers career and job fairs throughout the school year to help graduating seniors network and potentially land a job in their desired field.
Kalee Prillwitz will be graduating this semester with a degree in Liberal Studies. She hopes to become an elementary school teacher.
“The uncertainty of finding a job in two months I graduate is definitely scary. But, I am not the only senior going through this and I know there will be something out there for us,” said Prillwitz.
The Fresno State Career Development Center is available to help students virtually through online webinars and Zoom.

As more counties in California begin to reopen, more job opportunities are becoming available. HireFresnoState is a resource for students seeking jobs and internships. Utilizing other online networking sites like LinkedIn can also be helpful when trying to find a job.
