The anxiety of buying a car
Buying a car can put someone through a rollercoaster of emotions. “I just bought a car like not even two months ago, so it was really exciting, but like nerve wracking,” said Becca Matuse-Pannett said..
The easiest way to ease that stress is to do your research. “I know that a lot of dealerships are not necessarily letting you do test drives right now,” Matuse-Pannett said. “So just make sure wherever you’re looking at right now they have a good return policy, cause what if you hate it the moment you drive it off the lot?”
Car salesmen are not only aware of customers’ struggles, but they also try to help customers with their stress. “It’s really hard to buy a car at times. There is so much information online and the process is very different dealership to dealership,” said Hiram Cheek, a car salesman. “So we do our best to identify their anxiety and of course provide the information that they need to suppress it as much as possible.”
Matuse-Pannet also recommends looking at prices online, so you are aware of your price range before going into a dealership.
