Paying for college with OnlyFans

OnlyFans is a website where creators make content for their ‘fans’ who pay for the content. Roxanne Ramirez, a Fresno State student majoring in business, has made over $3,000 by selling lingerie pictures on the site.

How acceptable this means of work is depends on the person.

“If someone thinks they can make a fast buck by selling pictures of themselves, then what about their parents? What about their grandparents?” Fresno State professor Andrew Fiala said. “What about their friends and family? [Those] people that may not want their loved one to do that?”

It is easy to say what you would not do if you were in someone else’s shoes, but what if you were actually being offered thousands of dollars for a few lingerie pictures? Would you still turn down that offer?

Even though Ramirez is free with her body and sexuality, she understands not everyone feels the same way. However, she believes everyone has the right to do whatever they want with their body and Fiala agrees.

“I felt like in a way you sell your, your body or like yourself and anything anyways. But this one just a little more on the explicit side,” Ramirez said.

If OnlyFans is something you are considering, Ramirez recommends you know where your boundaries lie. Fiala says to talk with someone you trust to help guide you in making the best decisions for yourself and your future.
