Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity Helps Children in Armenia
Fresno State’s Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity is helping Armenian children from a world away. When the attacks in Armenia began last year, the fraternity knew they wanted to help.
Sigma Alpha Epsilon and National Raisin teamed up for a tee shirt sale to help raise money. Together they were able to donate $22,785 for the Armenian Missionary Association of America (AMAA).
The money will benefit after school educational programs for children in Armenia. The centers are located in Yerevan, Gyumri, Vanadzor in Armenia, and Shushi and Askeran in Artsakh.
These educational after school programs serve nearly 290 children, 6 to12 years old, from socially underserved families. The centers offer hot meals, educational support, summer camps, fine art classes, and more, all targeted at lifting families out of poverty.
