Movie theaters reopening: Know before you go
Movie theaters are opening back up in the Central Valley now that Fresno is in the orange tier.
Yet the experience is different in a few aspects, starting with when you buy your tickets. Instead of buying tickets from the box office once you get to the theater, you may want to start buying them online ahead of time.
“I would suggest buy tickets online, just because here in person it pretty much sells out right away,” said theater manager Andy Bolanos. “As soon as we put them on the website they’ll sell out.”
Movie times and tickets are uploaded to the theater website on Tuesday evening, and within a day or two they are sold out through the weekend.
Bolanos explains that when you buy your tickets, a bubble is placed around you and the seats in front, behind, and to the sides of you are blocked off.
Masks are required throughout your visit. “Wear a mask in the lobby. Once you’re in your auditorium and you’re social distanced from everybody, you can pull down your mask and enjoy your snacks,” shared Bolanos.
Social distancing is followed throughout the theaters and sanitizing stations are placed throughout the lobby.
