Meet Tasha Turner, Future News Reporter
The journalism world has brought Tasha Turner out of her shy shell. From print to broadcast, Turner has done it all.
She was a senior in high school when she discovered her passion for journalism. She was learning about a war journalist and realized journalism was the career path she wanted to take.
She attended Fresno City College, where she majored in print journalism. Turner worked at the Rampage as a staff reporter. She transferred to Fresno State to get her bachelor’s degree in print journalism
Turner also worked for Fresno State’s newspaper, The Collegian. However, after taking a news production class, Turner realized her passion was actually in broadcast journalism.
While taking the Fresno State Focus class, Turner experienced the broadcast journalism world as a news anchor, a news reporter, and a weather reporter.
As she gets ready to graduate Turner is finishing her last semester by interning for One Putt Broadcasting.
“I don’t think anyone expected me to be graduating with a bachelors in broadcast journalism because in high school I was just such a quiet kid,” said Turner. “But you know taking these journalism classes really changed me as a person… I am just happy at where I am and I can definitely say I am going to enjoy what I do for the rest of my life.”
Turner will be graduating this May with a bachelor’s degree in Media, Communications and Journalism with an emphasis in broadcast journalism so she can pursue a career as a news reporter.
