Fresno Raves are Socially Dis-Danced!
Fresno is allowing raves again with some pandemic precautions in place.
There were two raves in April. One was called the DisDance Pod Concert. Those who attended were only allowed to be in their own designated area, or “pod”.
“You park your car outside the venue, then you walk in with your group of 5 people, and you have your pod section and that’s your pod, you can’t go anywhere else,” explained Joel Cervantes, a Fresno State senior.
This has been the first time students have been allowed to enjoy festivals again in the area.
Fresno State student Jake Lao feels this is a great way for students to relieve stress after all scheduled concerts and festivals were cancelled this previous year. “I feel there was a need to have fun and release that stress of not being able to go out,” said Lao.
Since vaccines are now being distributed students are feeling safer to be able to gather and go out again. “Definitely I feel more safer,” said Lao. “I mean if things were not as safe they wouldn’t do it (raves) in the first place, and it was regulated well by the pods and groups, you still have to wear a mask and the regulations were in place still “
With more people vaccinated, students hope festivals can go back to how they once were.
