Food delivery app now accepting EBT funds as payment
Students receiving EBT funds can now use them to get groceries delivered right to their door. Select retailers are now accepting the funds as a form of payment through the grocery delivery app Instacart.
Retailers currently accepting EBT are indicated with a label next to their name in the app. Individual products are also labeled, so customers can be sure the items they order are eligible before adding them to their cart.
Users can opt to have their groceries dropped off at a designated location, such as their doorstep. They can also select to have the delivery handed to them upon the driver’s arrival.
Orders can be scheduled in advance using a selection of hour-long time slots. They can also be requested to be delivered as soon as possible.
The selection of retailers accepting EBT through the app is still very limited. More are expected to join in the coming months.
