Madera Youth Leaders group gives back to the community
Madera youth leaders is a group of teenagers and young adults who give back to the community. They teach the youth how to be involved and make positive changes within Madera.
Events have included the black lives matter project where they gathered together and painted pictures of George Floyd and other whose lives were taken. They wanted to show the community what it means to stand together.
“I have been in the Madera youth group for three years and I like that we do community service and how we get to meet new people and new organizations and how we get to see other people changing the community in a positive way,” said Sitlali Lopez, a youth leader member.
Future events that they plan include tree planting and college prep workshops to help better educate the youth about higher education.
