ATHLETIC TRAINER MEGAN CARROLL CONTINUES TO KEEP THE FRESNO STATE SOFTBALL TEAM HEALTHY & SAFE
Megan Carroll has only been a certified athletic trainer for a year. Don’t let that fool you. She’s one of the best at what she does. Megan’s athletic training career began at Azusa Pacific University, a small school outside of Los Angeles where she did clinical and student internships. All of her experience from Azusa Pacific brought her to Fresno State where she is now the athletic trainer for the Fresno State softball team.
Carroll goes above and beyond for the Fresno State softball team. Her passion for athletic training is undeniable. She spends countless hours in the training room and on the softball field, while still managing to make time for herself. The Fresno State softball team is truly blessed with the best.
“Megan is one of those people when she walks in a room or walks into the field, she just lights up the entire space and for as small of a person she is, I think that says a lot about her personality,” said graduate assistant Carlie Cutler.
The global COVID-19 pandemic has turned the world upside down and has caused stress for a lot of people, especially athletic trainers. Carroll is the main reason why 24 girls plus coaches and staff members have managed to stay healthy and safe while playing softball during this pandemic.
“I feel like we’ve put the weight of the world on our shoulders as athletic trainers because we are trying so hard to keep everyone healthy and constantly reminding everyone to wear masks,” Carroll said. “It’s a big honor to be the one that’s trusted with keeping everyone safe and healthy.”
Carroll exudes compassion, resilience, and positivity every day as an athletic trainer. She has a heart of gold and has the ability to bring light into any situation.
Everyone needs a Megan Carroll in their life. The Fresno State softball team is lucky to have one.
