Fresno State’s Student Health and Counseling Center Hosts 360 Wellness Challenge
The Fresno State Student Health and Counseling Center hosted the second annual 360 Wellness Challenge. The Peer Ambassadors of Wellness (PAW) volunteers hosted this event in 2020 during COVID and decided to bring it back this year.
The 360 Wellness Challenge is 10 weeks of health and wellness activities that students are able to participate in. At the end of each week, students submit their points and are entered to win a $25 gift card.
Georgianna Negron-Long is the health educator at the Student Health and Counseling Center.
“The 360 wellness challenge was a program that actually we started during the pandemic,” Negron-Long said. “So it was really a program that started in response to it.”
The health and wellness activities for students include listening to the health center’s podcast called, “PAWdcast,” going for a one-mile walk and participating in the group fitness classes at the Student Recreation Center.
Fresno State senior Emily Ames is participating in this year’s challenge.
“I think I will definitely incorporate exercising five days a week instead of my current two or three days a week,” Ames said.
If you missed the Sept. 9 deadline to enroll in the challenge, it’s not too late to get fit. Students are still able to participate in health and wellness actives on campus without registering.
