MCJ student goes viral on Tik Tok

FRESNO, Calif. — With so much going on these days, one student is spreading positivity through his passion for creating videos on the video-sharing app Tik Tok.

Branden Civiello poses with his lightsaber.

Branden Civiello is an MCJ student at Fresno State. On Tik Tok, he showcases his love for lightsabers.

He wasn’t a fan of the app until he realized the impact of his videos and how much he enjoyed making others from around the world smile.

What started as a side project during the pandemic turned into something he would have never imagined.

Months later, his Tik Tok page has over 500,000 followers and 15 million likes.

“It kind of changed my life,” Civiello says. “If Tik-Tok wasn’t a thing, then my life would be pretty boring. I wouldn’t have lightsabers. I probably wouldn’t have many costumes. I probably would just be going to school.”

Civiello plans to finish up his last year of school and hopes his Tik Tok pages continue to grow; he hopes he’ll be able to collaborate with other influencers and work for Disney one day.
