Zestful wins Bulldog Stakes at Big Fresno Fair

The Bulldog Stakes is a Fresno State-themed horse race that takes place on the last day of the Big Fresno Fair. Eight jockeys competed for the prize.

The crowds cheered on their favorite jockey and horse during the two laps around the dirt track.

Number six, Irving Orozco and his six-year-old horse Zestful won first place in under two minutes.

“Horsemen, jockeys, trainers, owners, we look forward to the fairs but Fresno is definitely one of our favorites and we hope to keep doing this every year,” said Orozco.

Orozco and Zestful won the Bulldog Stakes trophy and $45,000. The total purse was guaranteed to be $75,000, with smaller amounts going to the second through fifth place horses.
