Fresno Non-profit Supports Women
A Fresno non-profit organization joins women together to show support on their journey through times of trouble and loss.
The Helping One Woman Fresno Chapter (HOW) welcomes the community to their monthly dinners to help women.
Allison Murphy is a breast cancer survivor, she attends dinners with her friends and with strangers who come to support her.
She is a past HOW recipient who loves to keep giving back.
“Giving back and helping one woman this month and I’m happy to do it in the future as well,” said Murphy. “I see the impact it makes, not only on the one woman but on the family supporting her.”
Each dinner honors one woman, and the impact for each woman is immense.
“We make a true difference in someone’s life, and it’s a normal person from our community,” said Kaye Chapman, the chapter leader.
There are many ways to volunteer for HOW. You can help by providing auction items or announcing raffle tickets.
All proceeds go to the recipient to help them get by in this delicate time.
“Such as myself who was dealing with stage 4 cancer, not knowing where any income was going to come from,” Murphy said. “Being able to save my house and pay my bills and pay for food to be able to survive was an incredible blessing.”
