MCJ Magic

Continuing with Women’s History Month, we give thanks to the woman who is behind the scenes making the magic happen, Professor Carey Higgins-Dobney. Higgins-Dobney started her career in the industry 20 years ago, working in production. In 2006, she was a newscast director in Portland, Oregon. Higgins-Dobney joined the Fresno State MCJ family in 2018.

“Her being in the industry already and giving us so much knowledge about what to expect outside after school is just very helpful for me, because now I will know when I go out I will feel more prepared,” said Fresno State Focus crew member Karina Guevara.

Higgins-Dobney has helped many students break into the industry. Her constant support for her students and magic behind the scenes is what makes this show possible. Our MCJ family wouldn’t know what to do without you. Thank you, Carey.
