Spring Student Checklist
By Sydney Morgan
Spring break is coming up this weekend and that means there is only one month left of the spring semester.
For those stressing about catching up on assignments or upcoming exams, there are a few things you can do to get back on track and ease your mind.
First, write a checklist or to-do list of assignments you need to finish or exam dates.
By doing this, you will be able to get a larger grasp of what you have to do. It decreases the stress of missing something as all your assignments will be in one place rather than digging in Canvas.
The format of how you lay out the list varies on how you see fit; however, some ideas are bullet points, arrows, or boxes that you can check off as you work your way down the list.
Second, check in with your professors.
The importance of this step is that it builds a communicative bond with your professor. This helps give you accountability, which could lead to more understanding on behalf of the professor about your situation on late assignments. It also gives you a chance to get clarification on past work and potential extra credit.
A third thing to do to destress during this time is to surround yourself with nature and refresh your mind before finals hit.
You can trade the walls of the library for some trees and grass if you choose to study, or you can just go out and enjoy some time in the sun.
You have lots of options in this case as we are surrounded by mountains. You can easily go to Shaver Lake, Huntington Lake, Millerton Lake, or a nearby park.
The spring weather has made everything lush and green, so it’s essential to go out and enjoy it before the summer heat dries it up.
Vitamin D, also known as sunshine, is able to ward off aches, pains, fatigue or sleepiness, and potentially boost the brainpower.
Among other ideas of how to destress, these three are essential in the detoxing of pressure that comes with the last few weeks of the semester.
Just remember, you’re a Bulldog and you’ve got this in the bag!
