NFL Draft Preview
The wait is almost over as the NFL Draft will be held on the Las Vegas Strip this Thursday, April 28. It will be the first time Las Vegas hosts the NFL Draft.
Las Vegas was actually chosen as the host city for 2020, but the COVID-19 pandemic put a pause to the event until 2022. NFL fans have waited a long two years, but it is time for the draft to be done Vegas style.
NFL fans like Braulio Flores look forward to this event every year.
“I look forward to the draft because I really want to know what college football player my team is going to draft as well as finding out what other ballplayers the other teams are drafting as well,” Flores said.
This year will be the first in which there will be no consensus number one overall pick, as the quarterback class isn’t the strongest and the Jacksonville Jaguars, who have the first pick, already have their franchise quarterback in Trevor Lawrence.
“The mock draft does say they’re looking for a defensive end, I think that’s a good move just because I feel like their last good defensive end was Yannick Ngakoue and I feel like they just literally sent him packing for nothing so I feel like that should be their main goal at the moment,” said Sebastian Gonzalez a Fresno State Focus reporter.
The betting favorite to go first overall is Travon Walker from the University of Georgia. Walker recently gained that title by jumping Michigan defensive end Aidan Hutchinson after he was the favorite throughout the whole draft process.
It is still unknown who the Jaguars will select. Anything is possible in one of the most unpredictable events of the year.
The NFL Draft will take place Thursday, April 28 at 5pm.
